Cuts to education erase more than just deficits.
The Alberta government’s 2011 budget left schools $100 million short of the funding necessary to maintain the quality of education Albertans expect from their public education system. As a result many school boards had to cut programs and reduced staff.
Fortunately, because of the advocacy of concerned Albertans like you the government of Alberta has agreed to add $107 million to the Education budget and restore the grants that were cut.
Alberta’s students still need long-term, predictable, sustained and sufficient funding to ensure the continuation of high quality public education.
